Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC), a nodal agency of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Haryana for Remote Sensing and GIS applications, has been established in the year 1986 and has become operational in the year 1989.

he University has been established by an Act of the Haryana State Legislature. The Governor of the State is Chancellor and Head of the University. The Vice-Chancellor is appointed by the Chancellor on the recommendations of the Government for a term of three years in accordance with the procedure defined in the Act.
