The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

Applications are invited from candidates seeking admission to first year professional degree courses for the academic year 2013 - 14 under the purview of CENTAC. Candidates who have alre ady passed HSc or an equivalent qualifying examination and those who have appeared in such qualifying examination during March /April 2013 are also eligible for admission, subject to fulfilling the stipulated minimum marks in the prescribed subjects for th e various courses and the criteria for age.
